A little bit about me and clay.

My life as a lover of clay and art began in high school; however, my life as a potter began in 2009 when I was introduced to my mentor, a master potter and former high school ceramics teacher. He saw in me the need to express myself creatively, but he also saw a young girl who was lost in life. He wasted no time putting me to work as an apprentice in his studio and teaching me everything he knew. Unbeknownst to me at the time, this marked the beginning of a one-of-a-kind friendship that would span years. It was also the beginning of my new life as a creative individual, a life that would give me purpose, challenges, strength, and an unwavering and fearless desire to follow my creative passion.

My pots are grounded in functionality and intended to bring beauty and richness to everyday activities involved with eating, drinking and sharing meals. I spend most of my time on the wheel, but I find great joy in handbuilt techniques as well. My work is primarily stoneware fired in a gas kiln to 2,350º F.
