North Shore Nomad
I spent countless hours throughout my childhood picking rocks and snorkeling the frigid waters of Lake Superior hunting for treasure. My family's trips to Minnesota's North Shore inspired this publication. A typographic scheme, grid system and InDesign’s master pages work together to create a cohesive layout that is inviting and readable for adventurers of all ages.
I have been a creative thinker from a very young age. As I finished high school and entered college, I found a passion in wheel-thrown pottery. After taking classes at UMD and Normandale, I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a concentration in ceramics. While in college, I worked tirelessly to build and promote my pottery business, gaining valuable business skills in the process.
Although ceramics will always be a passion for me, I decided to pursue a creative career that didn’t require being covered in clay all the time. While working towards my Associate's Degree at Dunwoody College of Technology, I gained experience in Adobe applications like InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. I am attracted to areas such as branding identity, typography, publication design, and page layout. I'm especially excited about graphic design because with today's technology, it is an ever changing field that allows motivated individuals like myself the constant opportunity to learn and grow.
